Microsoft Issues Statement Regarding Yahoo!

Microsoft on Sunday posted an announcement that it will continue to explore and pursue alternatives to improve & grow their online services and advertising business.
Microsoft is has reached out to Yahoo! With what they consider an alternative that would involve deal with Yahoo. This would not be an acquisition of Yahoo but rather an agreement to incorporate parts of Yahoo into the Microsoft family.

While it is not considering a new bid to acquire all of Yahoo! they are reserving the right to reconsider an alternative which will depend on other future developments and / or discussions that might take place with Yahoo. This could also include discussion with shareholders of Yahoo, Microsoft or with other third parties.

Other third parties would seem to indicate Carl Icahn who has a great amount of money and has begun buying Yahoo shares to try to throw out Yahoos board but who does not have enough money or power to make a serious play by himself.

Joining Ballmer was almost cast in stone!

Apple has to be one of the smartest companies on the planet right now and it shows in the fact that they never fade away!

Dealing with the issue of 1,000,000 hacked iPhones Apple has given up the fight it seems to stop the hackers and instead work with it’s users and accept their users will make videos, mp3s etc with their IP and there is little Apple can do to stop it.

Seems Apple has found a better way…don’t fight them, join them!!!

Gauge your target market. Start with a simple idea. Build on it if it succeeds.

Its probably best to start in the middle here and start with a simple idea….anything you can think of that would make life better for someone else is a good place to start. Build a better mousetrap and people will beat a path to your door.

Remember K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid!

After you have the idea you want to find out from the people you want to attract if they like your idea. Visit forums and blogs. PM people or send an e-mail and ask people questions about your idea. Be sure to tell them you value their opinion initially as this will make them want to help you.

After you have some opinions that seem favorable you want to build on your idea slowly. Do not invest all of your money into the idea based on a few good comments…..crawl before you walk……

Google may be penalizing Adsense Publishers who are serving competing Ads on their websites.

I read in a forum post today over at Digital Point that an Adsense Publisher has seen reduced eCPM from Adsense since they recently installed Auction Ads from shoemoney

Further investigation is now underway.

If this turns out to have substance there could be a huge potential backlash against Google.

I’ll write shoemoney and see what he knows.

Search Engine Marketing

I started this blog as it is something I have been meaning to do, but just was too busy to concentrate on with so much else happening. I would start and then stop…part of the problem was not having something that was really my own, as much as a 3rd party tool with no branding or design.

With this blog I have begun to add these items, and will expand as my time and thoughts allow. I really liked the name of this site and logo when I bought it. Originally this was a video sharing website but as you can see that’s gone. The logo was redesigned by Rory (thank you) and I think looks great.
