This is kind of a rant against artificial link builders and pay for performance SEO plans.
I have a client who has retained my services on a pay and pay for performance SEO plan and at times I am not one to accept a lot of this type work (very rare that I do) as I usually am apprehensive about things done, before I am retained.
After talking with my client in negotiations and his long term overall good quality efforts I was convinced this would not have the pitfalls I find with other sites.
So after knocking out the seo work on a few of the pages we begin to discuss links. As many of you know I think most link building is a waste. So my client tells me he has a guy who has been building links for him and I ask him to send me some that have been done.
Below is the link builders recent e-mail to my client. The italizied parts are from the e-mail and of course I add my witty responses ;->
I build a lot of links in past week.
So the guy send my clients 3 links he has placed for his football handicapping site. Thats a lot of links I feel so bad for the guy building those three links…I do…..okay so I am stretching the truth a bit. So is the link builder as noted in the next sentence below;

Cacti is a complete frontend to RRDTool, it stores all of the necessary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven.
